Sample Itinerary

An 8 day trip in "The Warm Heart of Africa"

 

DAY 1

Arrive in Lilongwe, rest, and join us for an optional a half-day tour of the capital city before enjoying a traditional Malawian meal.

Day 2

Visit to Ufulu Community, where you'll meet local leaders, sing songs with preschool students, tour our poultry farm, and plant trees near our honey hives.

Day 3

Travel to the traditional Malawian market and pick out your very own "chitenge" fabrics before visiting our amazing soybean and peanut farmers and their children. 

Day 4

Visit Bright Vision community, which is nestled at the base of a beautiful mountain. See the community poultry farm, do an art project with young students, and join local leaders on a walking village tour.

Day 5

Roll up your sleeves and leave your mark by participating in a community-based volunteer project like painting a classroom.

Day 6

Time for some rest and relaxation! After a morning drive, you'll be snorkeling in the amazing Lake Malawi, or be amazed with the wildlife you see on safari at Mvuu Hippo Camp.

Day 7

Enjoy another relaxing day at Lake Malawi or Mvuu Hippo Camp. You'll have the chance to reflect on what you learned, to ask our team questions, and of course to take in an amazing sunset!

Day 8

Drive back to Lilongwe and depart for the airport.

$3,000 + a commitment to fundraise

Flights, visas, and gratuities not included

Prior to your trip, Yamba Malawi will work with you to set a fundraising goal and crowdfunding page where you can post photos, updates, and stories rom your trip. Whether you're raising money to buy books for the community library or launching a new beekeeping business, your trip to Malawi will help empower more communities to break the cycle of poverty and care for their children.
