As Development and Operations Coordinator, you will have the unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of both fundraising and operations in a mission-driven, fast-paced, and growing international nonprofit. Yamba Malawi is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented self-starter to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the Organization as a whole. The Development and Operations Coordinator will report directly to the Development Manager and the Director of Operations and Finance, while working closely with the entire Organizational Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the effectiveness of the organization.  


  • Track all gifts, financial and in-kind, and coordinate acknowledgements

  • Assist with financial data entry, tracking receipts, liaising with bookkeeper

  • Assist with registrations, compliance and other clerical tasks

  • Assist in the creation of fundraising pages to drive crowdfunding efforts

  • Research and implement tools to increase efficiency in our day-to-day operations

  • Schedule internal and external meetings and assist with meeting preparation and follow-up

  • Support team with writing, research, and proofreading as requested

  • Provide support for special events and projects

  • Provide support with the Board of Directors, including the organization of meetings, compliance, and stewardship

  • Support Human Resources initiatives, including assisting with coordination of interns

  • Provide general administrative support to the NY office


  • Must be passionate about the mission of the Organization

  • Ability to be detail-oriented and efficient despite competing deadlines and projects

  • Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks appropriately

  • Persistence, patience, and a sense of urgency around each task and project

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Excel, Google suite; experience with Salesforce or other databases preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • One year combined work/intern experience preferred
